On Wednesday 18 May 2011 Chandra Lekha Sriram, Professor in Law, SOAS gave a seminar hosted by Tooks Chambers and the London Transitional Justice Network.  The seminar considered how the imperative to bring perpetrators to justice is consistent –or not –with communities’ calls for peace and reconciliation. It addressed whether it is more appropriate to issue an indictment against a leader of an armed group, to explain his crimes at a Truth and Reconciliation Commission or to give him a place in a transitional government.
